Home to original 1972 Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc plantings, Bacchus Vineyard is a truly special part of Washington wine. This series features three stunning Cabernet Sauvignon wines made by three winemakers with a long history working with this vineyard.
2015 Sagemoor Stars in a Row -- Devona's John Abbott
This wine starts with a nose of classic cabernet red fruit, chocolate covered cherry notes, baking spice, confectioners sugar, black currant, fresh purple plum, graphite, and barrel spice. A bit delicate, with a complex mid-palate, layered textures, and a velvety, long finish. Tannins are balanced, with a nice, fruity finish.
2014 Walla Walla Vintners Cabernet Sauvignon -- Bill von Metzger
From Walla Walla Vintners: “Cabernet Sauvignon enthusiasts love Sagemoor’s “old vine Cab.” This expertly crafted 2014 rendition was surrounded by French oak for 22 months. The surprising fresh coconut nose is a grabber that takes you to the fruitcake mid-palate ending with a dash a dried cherries, mocha, coffee finish. Decant and let it breathe.”
2013 Barrister Cabernet Sauvignon -- Greg Lipsker, Michael White, Taylor Walters
This Cabernet Sauvignon from Spokane-based Barrister Winery features 100% Bacchus fruit. Barrister is a long-time partner of Sagemoor, still making the Bacchus Cabernet Sauvignon annually.
