This wine starts with a nose of classic cabernet red fruit, chocolate covered cherry notes, baking spice, confectioners sugar, black currant, fresh purple plum, graphite, and barrel spice. A bit delicate, with a complex mid-palate, layered textures, and a velvety, long finish. Tannins are balanced, with a nice, fruity finish.

“The 2015 Stars In A Row (92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Merlot) is a plump, rounded, delicious effort offering lots of tobacco and truffle-laced fruits, medium to full body, a rounded, nicely textured mouth feel, integrated oak, and a soft, ready-to-go style that's going to drink nicely for 7-8 yeas at a minimum. I love its balance as well as its tannins, and it's a terrific effort from this estate.”

“Dark red-ruby. Lively scents of cassis, black cherry, licorice and peppery herbs. Surprisingly plush and broad on entry, then plump in the middle, offering complex flavors of dark berries, cherries, minerals, cocoa powder and spices, along with notes of chocolate and menthol. In a fairly powerful style, this Cabernet finishes with a broad dusting of tannins. I'd give it another year or two of cellaring. (14.8% alcohol; from Bacchus and Dionysus vineyards; made by John Abbott; aged in 40% new oak; the second vintage for this wine).”
